The fishing-village La Caleta de Famara is situated
in the northern part of Lanzarote, just in the natural park of the
archipelago Chinijo. The Risco de Famara and the islands La Graciosa,
Montaña Clara and Alegranza belong to this nature park. The
3k long, “wild” sand beach of Famara is unique. You
can swim there, but you must be aware that several streams flow
together and create small swirls which can be dangerous. Also good
swimmers should stay close to the beach, there is also a small beach
at the small harbour of La Caleta. Here there is no risk to swim.
In La Caleta you will find everything: such as good restaurants,
small tapas bars, two small supermarkets, surfing, kite surfing
and hang-gliding. Or you can just join a wonderful and peaceful
holiday far away from the main tourism.
